Why can't I record a CD to a tape using a digital cable connection ?

Last Update: 06/16/2012

When trying to record an audio source using a digital output going into a receiver/integrated amplifier to an analog component, you will not be able to transfer the digital signal. The analog component (cassette deck) will not see the digital source (CD, CD-R/CD-RW, MD, etc.). The only way to record from one source to another component is to use only analog stereo RCA audio cables.
