The UX16 has the words "IN" and "OUT" marked on the ends of the MIDI cables.
Connect the cables as described below:
- Connect the UX16's MIDI IN cable to the keyboard's (sound source) MIDI OUT connector.
- Connect the UX16's MIDI OUT cable to the keyboard's MIDI IN connector. (Turn the keyboard off when plugging in equipment. The computer can be left on.)
- Set the HOST SELECT switch to MIDI (on machines that have a HOST SELECT switch) and then turn the keyboard on.
- Then bring up the MIDI Patch screen on the computer and confirm that information is being passed. (For details about this procedure the Driver Settings section of the owners manual on the CD-ROM.)
