Connecting a Guitar or Bass Amplifier Output to a PA System Through a Direct Box (DI)
1) Connect the ext speaker output of the amp with a short instrument cable to input of the direct box (DI).
NOTE: On the DI there should be a level select switch that must be set for amplifier output. This adapts speaker level signal to line level signal. If your DI is not so equipped, you will need to get one that is, in order to complete this setup.
2) Connect the balanced (XLR) output of DI to the appropriate input of the snake or stage box.
NOTE: Most DIs have a ground lift switch that can be engaged if 60hz hum is present.
