Yamaha Style Files can be created on an external sequencer or computer. Yamaha has provided a Style Template file (template.mid) that can be used to create custom styles. Just open the file in Cakewalk or any other sequencing program, resave the project with another name such as 'latin.mid' then fill in the sections and tracks. When finished, rename the file with the extention '.sty'.

Download Procedure:
  1. Click here to download the Style Template file. The 'File Download' dialog box will appear.
    1. Select the 'Save this program to disk' radio button in the 'File Download' dialog box.
    2. Click the button. The 'Save As' dialog box will appear.
    3. Select the Windows Desktop as the destination folder.
      1. Click on the drop-down button in the 'Save In:' field and select 'Desktop'. ('Desktop' appears at the top of the list)
      2. Click the button. The 'Saving Progress' dialog box will appear until the download is complete.

Extraction Procedure:
  1. Double-click on the 'StyleTemplate.exe' application file that is located on the Windows Desktop. The 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box will appear.
    1. Click the button. The files will be unzipped into the Windows Desktop and then the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' confirmation dialog box will appear.
    2. Click the button.
    3. Close the 'WinZip Self-Extractor' dialog box by clicking on the button.
NOTE: The above procedure will save one file (template.mid) to the Windows Desktop.
