Selecting MIDI Transmit/Receive Channels on a Clavinova

Last Update: 03/10/2012

This Content Item applies to the CLP350 and CLP550 models.

The CLP350/CLP550's MIDI system allows data transmission and reception on 16 different MIDI channels. An OMNI Receive mode option allows reception on all 16 channels without the need to match the receive channel of the keyboard to the transmit channel of the transmitting device.

NOTE: When the CLP350/CLP550 is initially turned ON, the MIDI transmit channel is set to 1, and MIDI Receive is set to the OMNI mode.

To select a Transmit Channel:
Press and hold the [TRANSPOSER/MIDI] button.Press any of the 16 keys (Channels 1 - 16) from C1 to D#2, the second octave from the left.
EXAMPLE: Pressing the C1 key sets the transmit channel to 1, pressing the C#1 key sets the transmit channel to 2, etc.

To select a Receive Channel:
Press and hold the [TRANSPOSER/MIDI] button.Press any of the 16 keys between C3 and D#4, fourth octave from the left, to select a receive channel and to turn OMNI mode OFF.
EXAMPLE: Pressing the C3 key sets the receive channel to 1, pressing the C#3 key sets the receive channel to 2, etc.

NOTE: Pressing the E4 key will set the MIDI Receive mode to 'OMNI' and the basic Receive Channel to 1.
