Performance Assistant will work with any Standard MIDI Files, however, they must have CHORD DATA in them for the Performance Assistant to follow. All Yamaha "XF" files have a specific chord track containing chord data, which works with the Performance Assistant, as well as displays chords on the screen of keyboards capable of doing so. These files are available from www.yamahamusicsoft.com. There are also MIDI sequencer programs for computer which have chord tracks so that chord data can be programmed.
