What is the difference between lacquer and plated finishes?

Last Update: 09/03/2010

Lacquer: Sharp and powerful tone. Gold lacquer: Gold-color paint is mixed in with the lacquer. Solid and dark tone. Good, clear forte. Clear lacquer: Similar to regular lacquer, painted by transparent lacquer. Silver-plated: Soft and bright tone. Silver-plated instruments directly deliver the character of the instrument itself and are more expressive in subtle nuances. Gold-plated: Soft and relatively distinct sound. Similar to silver-plated instruments, but with a darker tone.
