How does the material of a brass instrument, such as yellow brass and gold brass, affect the sound?

Last Update: 09/03/2010

Since wind instruments are very delicate instruments, the tonal color changes when a different material is used for the bell (and other parts of the instrument as well) as well as when the instrument's shape and length change. Generally, yellow brass has a bright and resonant tone while gold brass has a full and rich tone.
