What does it mean when a trombone has a "dual bore"?

Last Update: 09/03/2010

Dual bore means the first (upper) slide tube of the inner slide is less wide than the second inner (lower) slide tube. Yamaha trombones with a dual bore include the YSL-871, YSL-872, YSL-697Z, YSL-455G, YSL-456G and YSL-350C.
