What kind of trumpet is used in an orchestral setting versus a jazz setting?

Last Update: 12/12/2013

The trumpet is a very versatile instrument. An orchestra can see every type of trumpet, depending on the composer's requirements. In a jazz setting, it is more typical to see standard Bb trumpets and flugelhorns, as these are horns that produce the sound that is typically sought by jazz musicians.
